Nintendo has announced that it will be releasing special 3DS XL Charging Cradles in a special bundle that also includes an AC Adapter starting on August 24th. The 3DS XL does not include a Charging Cradle or an  AC Adapter when you purchase it so this bundle should help those who were hoping for each charge method.
